2009 Chrysler Sebring Car Review
Sebring sedan and convertible, after a complete redesign in 2007 and 2008 respectively enter 2009 with only a few minor changes, the most notable of which are the deletion of all-wheel drive option and LX trim for sedan. For 2009, Sebring sedan is available in Touring and Limited trims, while convertible is available in LX, Touring and Limited trims.
Chrysler Sebring competes in the ultra-competitive mid-size car segment with its more daring looks, plentiful of unique features than most of its competitors. All Sebring trims are offered in front-wheel drive for 2009. All sedan trims and base convertible trim get a standard 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. Optional for Touring sedan and standard in the Touring convertible is a 2.7-liter V6, which is E85 friendly. Optional for Limited sedan and standard in Limited convertible is a 3.5-liter V6 engine. The latter would be the best choice if you are looking for some top-down fun! The 3.5-liter V6 engine comes with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the other two come with a four-speed automatic transmission.
Sebring has always been known as one of the safest cars around. Maintaining its commitment to offer safety to the driver and passengers, the 2009 Chrysler Sebring is equipped with a host of safety equipments, including four-wheel antilock brakes, front-seat side airbags as standard features and side curtain airbags and electronic stability system with all-speed traction control and much more as optional features.
The 2009 Sebring, both sedan and convertible offers a simple, yet spacious and comfortable cabin. The sedan can seat up to five adult passengers and convertible has a capacity to accommodate four passengers comfortably. Of the two Sebring body styles, convertible is more appealing. It is more luxurious than its counterpart sedan, as well as more commodious than its rivals. Compared to most of its competitors, including Pontiac G6, Ford Mustang V6, the 2009 Sebring convertible proves to be a better choice, thanks to its comfortable ride, spacious interior, plentiful equipment and available retractable hardtop, which offers significant space in the trunk. But, the same could not be said about the 2009 Sebring sedan, as it doesn't really stack up well against its competitors.
