2009 Chrysler 300 Car Review
The 2009 Chrysler 300 is a real head-turner and is designed to win the hearts of many with its stunning looks, as well as capabilities. It has been launched with a refreshing change to the more common American sporty sedan look. Chrysler 300 is a style icon, with great exterior styling and enough interior room. However, it loses points for a low safety rating and reliability as compared to its competitors.
The 2009 Chrysler 300's strong points are its appealing appearance and the powerful engines, especially the two versions of Chrysler's Hemi V8 engine. Regarding its powertrains, the sedan goes from mild to wild. The latest Chrysler 300 is available in five trim levels with a choice of four cylinders. The LX version uses a 178 horsepower, 2.7 liter V6 engine, for which fuel economy is rated at 18 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. The Touring and Limited versions get a 250 horsepower, 3.5-liter V6 engine, which is rated at 17 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon for the rear-wheel drive and 15 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway for all-wheel drive. The 300C is backed by a 5.7-liter version of Chrysler's Hemi V8 engine. It delivers 359 horsepower and its fuel economy is rated at 15 miles per gallon in the city and 23 miles per gallon on the highway, regardless of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The top-of-the-line 300C SRT8 gets a 425 horsepower, 6.1-liter Hemi V8 engine, rated at 13 miles per gallon in the city and 18 miles per gallon on the highway.
All 2009 Chrysler 300 trims are offered in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive, except LX and 300C SRT8, both available only in rear-wheel drive. The V6 models get a four-speed automatic transmission, while V8s get a five-speed automatic transmission. The new Chrysler 300 comes with a host of entertainment features, such as UConnect, satellite TV, rear seat video screens & DVD player and a Boston Acoustics speaker system. It employs a range of standard safety features including antiskid system, traction control and curtain side airbags.
